Nogrid points release 6.5.1
December 2018
The release of NOGRID points 6.5.1 is available now.
This is new:
NOGRID preprocessor Compass
- New: The meshing procedure can now be canceled and runs faster (meshing runs now in its own thread).
- New: Frustum creation was added to the primitive creation (box, sphere, ...) in 2-D (a trapezoid) and in 3-D (a frustum).
- New: All primitive creation buttons are collected under one primitive button.
- Fixed: In case faces were revolved or moved the face ID did not change any more. For this reason the face groups list remained unchanged as well.
- Fixed: If a entity was copied by translate, rotate, scale or mirror the orientation of the original entity was copied as well.
- Fixed: Undo/Redo crashed in case a group was generated including entities connected to a higher topology. The reason was, that if a group including entities were created, the entities which were connected with a higher topology generated a copy of the entity. The new entity was not handled by redo/undo and resulted in a crash. So in the current release group entities are removed if the higher topology is removed (for example by Undo). In case of Redo the entities will remain removed.
Nogrid points GUI
- The number format for the legend label is changed to "%.5g" and the format for the saved xy plot data is set to its original data format".
- Fixed: "INITDATA($materialName$,%ind_med%) = $materialName$" removed from the User file if User file is generated by the GUI.
- Fixed: In case the GUI opened a User file and the path of geometry file was not correct then the GUI crashed.
- Fixed: XYPlot did not re-read the line source if a line source was already created previously (displayed x-y data still used the old line source)
Nogrid points Solver (already published in release 6.5.0)
A double precision version of the solver is provided now. The name is FPMpoints_dp.x for Linux and FPMpoints_dp.exe for Windows. This double precision version is about 30% slower compared to the single precision version but it can handle cases better where viscosity scales over several magnitudes.
New rheological models: Beside the old Bird-Carreau-Yasuda model (shear rate was of second power) the following viscosity models are available now:
- VFT
- Bird-Carreau-Yasuda
- Bird-Carreau-Yasuda with WLF shiftNe
- Carreau
- Carreau with WLF shift
- Cross
- Cross with WLF shift
- Menges-Wortberg-Michaeli
- Power law
- Bingham-Herschel-Bulkley-Papanastasious
